Moxie Art Studio is a locally owned art studio in Overland Park, Kansas, serving kids, tweens, teens, adults, families and groups throughout Johnson County and the greater Kansas City area. Founded by a longtime art teacher, Moxie creates welcoming, hands-on art experiences designed to make creativity fun, social and accessible — whether you're five, fifteen or fifty-five.

At Moxie, we believe making art should feel joyful, not intimidating. Our thoughtfully designed projects combine quality materials, creative instruction and plenty of room for personal expression. Beginners are always welcome, and no previous art experience is needed. Our goal is simple: help people spend less time on screens, connect with other people, try something creative and leave proud of what they made.

Kids & Tween Art Classes, Camps and Creative Events

Moxie offers kids art classes, tween art classes, school-break art camps, summer art camps, School's Out activities, creative pop-ups, birthday parties, Girl Scout art workshops and private group events. Our children's programming combines art education with creative exploration in a colorful, encouraging studio environment where kids can make art, build confidence, meet friends and develop their own creative voice.

Moxie is also known throughout the Kansas City area for our creative birthday parties for kids, tweens and teens. Our hosted art parties combine engaging projects with a fun celebration experience, while our team handles the creative supplies, instruction, setup and cleanup.

Moxie Art Studio was founded by former public-school art teacher and mom of three Alexis Burdick, who spent more than 14 years teaching art before creating Moxie. What began with creative art parties grew into a full art studio dedicated to bringing people together through creativity.

Today, Moxie is home to art classes, camps, workshops, birthday parties, private events and creative experiences for children and adults in the Kansas City area. Our specialty isn't simply teaching people how to make a project. It's creating the kind of experience where people feel welcome, inspired and genuinely excited to create.

Adult Art Workshops, Craft Classes & Creative Nights Out

Moxie isn't just for kids. Our adult studio offers adult art workshops, craft classes, creative workshops and hands-on DIY experiences in Overland Park for beginners and experienced makers alike. Workshops may include watercolor painting, acrylic painting, mosaics, wood signs, resin projects, jewelry making, paper crafts, junk journaling, seasonal projects and other modern creative experiences.

Come with friends for a creative girls' night, plan a date night, make something with family, or come by yourself and meet other local makers. Moxie adult workshops are designed to be relaxed, social and approachable — you don't have to consider yourself an artist to have a great time making art.

Private Parties, Celebrations & Group Art Experiences

Moxie Art Studio hosts private art parties and creative events for kids, tweens, teens and adults, including birthday celebrations, girls' nights, family gatherings, Girl Scout troops, community groups, corporate events and team-building experiences.

Our private events make it easy to bring people together around something more memorable than simply meeting for dinner or drinks. Guests create together while Moxie provides the project, materials, creative guidance and welcoming studio space.
